Obama/Clinton Still Most Admired Persons

It's the end of the year, so it's time once again for the Gallup Poll to register the most admired man and woman among the American public at large.   In spite of the many right-wing attacks and accusations and lies, Barack Obama is easily the most admired person.   He finished in first place (by a large margin) for the third year in a row.   Here are the numbers:

MOST ADMIRED MEN
Barack Obama...............22%
George Bush...............5%
Bill Clinton...............4%
Nelson Mandela...............2%
Bill Gates...............2%
Pope Benedict XVI...............2%
Rev. Billy Graham...............2%
Jimmy Carter...............2%
Glenn Beck...............2%
The Dalai Lama...............1%

It comes and no surprise that President Obama finishes first among Democrats, or even among Independents.   The real surprise is that he finished second among Republicans.   Here are the numbers by party affiliation:

Among the most admired women, it looks like Hillary Clinton is making it an American tradition to finish in first place.   This is the ninth year in a row that Clinton has been in first place as the most admired woman in America.   Here are the numbers:

When it is broken down by party affiliation, Clinton finishes first among Democrats and Independents and third among Republicans.   Sarah Palin is first among Republicans and third among Independents.   Here are those numbers:
