A New Look

I guess many of you have noticed that this blog has a new look. Blogger has been trying for a while to get me to update to their new "layout blog", and I finally got around to doing it. Today is my birthday, so I took the day off and spent it playing with the blog.

I decided if I have to do everything over, I might as well go whole hog and give it a different look. I'm not sure whether I love it or not. What do you guys think? Is it an improvement? I was hoping to give it a unique look (the old template was being used by several others).

The header is still a work in progress. I wasn't able to do what I wanted (going to have to find someone who knows more about computers than I do).

  2. For what it's worth, I find the yellow background a little too bright. Maybe I'll get used to it over time. It's probably just that I don't adjust well to change; I am, after all, a conservative :)

BTW, Happy Birthday, jobsanger! I'll never forget this date, because just as I share a birthday with your blog, you share a birthday with my stepdaughter. If I were a believer in astrology (which of course I'm not), I'd have to assume that our stars are somehow intertwined. That's a pretty scary thought!

  3. Thanks AA.

    CT-
We do seem to have a lot of dates in common. But that's not so scary. I think you and I could probably have a good time arguing politics over a couple of drinks.

  4. Agreed. I suspect we'd get along as well as my brother and I do. His politics are decidedly to the Left, but that doesn't stop us from getting along on a personal level, despite some spirited political debates.

Along that same line, I was channel surfing recently and saw Dennis Kucinich on Rachel Maddow. He was talking about how there are some conservative House Republicans who share his view that Wall Street should bail out Wall Street, rather than making the American taxpayer do it. He also said he'd be willing to work in a bipartisan effort to make that happen. I hope that can happen before Congress leaves us with the tab on this mess.

I rarely agree with Dennis Kucinich, but I've always thought that he puts his own integrity above pure party politics, and for that I respect him, even when I disagree with him.

  5. Can't argue with you about Kucinich - he one of my favorite Democrats.
